GBR 43 - 2023 Hollom

In late 2022 we sold our lovely World Championship winning boat, “Jean Genie” (GBR 42). It was like waving goodbye to a child - so much passion invested into her!

We immediately pulled the trigger on another Hollom designed International 5.5 Metre, the yet to be named GBR 43.

​

She is from the same mould as GBR 42 and will sit in exactly the same place within the rule in terms of displacement, length and sail area.

​

We have made some slight differences to keel placement, the mast and sails. Each are in the category of “marginal gains”. Very much refinements to what was a very sweet package in GBR 42.

 

The hull is being expertly crafted in pre-preg S-Glass cloth by Gavin and Glyn Tappenden at Composite Craft, UK - to a structural design created by Suzy Russell.

In early Feb 2023, she was moved across to David Heritage Racing Yachts for assembly of appendages, fitting out, fairing and coating.
